The very first Brisbane HUG event was held on Monday, September 01, 2014. Since it was the first meet up, I was filled with excitement to meet other Hubspotters and so I got to the venue early.
People started coming in and it was more than what I expected. The event started exactly at 5:45 p.m. I was happy to see fellow inbound marketers gathered having the same passion and are all willing to learn new inbound marketing strategies, talk about the challenges, and share their results and most importantly, to become better marketers. It was truly a very unique and wonderful experience, totally different from other meetings that I've been into that I've already marked my calendar for the next Brisbane HubSpot User Group.
Here's an overview of the meeting:
Brisbane HUG Leader and Marketing Consultant David McMahon started the evening by welcoming everyone to the event.
In case you didn't make it to the very first Brisbane HUG event, you can still get an overview of the topics discussed during the meeting by downloading the presentation slides.
David briefly discussed the purpose of Brisbane HUG that it's a network and mentoring marketing group where marketers can share their ideas and solutions with other marketers that are from other industries. Most importantly, Brisbane HUG teaches marketers about how to take action like using the right tools, marketing message, and buyer personas and eliminate the blockages that can hinder business' growth.
As a Marketing Consultant, David talked about using HubSpot as marketing tool and how this software can help generate natural inbound traffic and improve your inbound marketing campaigns. Attract, Convert, Close, and Delight are the four important actions that organisations should take to attract visitors and convert them into customers. With the HubSpot software, you can connect all your inbound marketing pieces and therefore would be easier to track down results unlike other disconnected tools and channels.
One of the challenges that inbound marketers face is how to create the right inbound marketing campaign. David also spoke about the five keys in creating an effective inbound marketing campaign which I think was really helpful especially for those who are making the transition from traditional outbound marketing to inbound.
